Guitar Lessons

Learn How To:

  • Improvise
  • Read Music, Chord Charts and Number Charts.
  • Play with Others in a Band
  • Understand Music Theory
  • Play Along With Your Favorite Songs
  • Most Importantly: Have Fun with Music!

It appears virtually everyone wants to learn the guitar at some point in their life. Playing the guitar is not only fun, but with practice, most people can start playing many common songs within 4-8 weeks! This is one reason that students of all ages choose to take guitar lessons. At the Hanes School of Music, guitar is taught by teaching “Nashville Numbering” as well as music theory and strum patterns. This enables the student to eventually play their favorite songs without music. Whether you are brand new to the instrument or want to fine-tune your skills, there is something for you.

We emphasize note reading and fundamentals but always look forward to throwing in exploration of other genres. We also encourage pianists to be able to read chord charts and lead sheets as well as traditional notation. From Stevie Wonder to Chopin, Josh Groban to Adele, we’ve got you covered here at Hanes School of Music.

The piano is often the first instrument that many children learn because it eliminates the challenges that children face due to hand size, body size or finger strength. Most students taking private piano lessons learn up to 60% faster. Online lesson formats lack in assessing skill level and cannot provide unique lesson plans.
